Your story deserves careful handling.
Effective . This notice explains what blssdAdvice collects, why it is used, who helps process it, and the choices you have.
Your reflections are personal.
- Other users cannot open your saved reflections.
- The owner dashboard shows totals, not your private words.
- Your reflection text is not used for advertising.
What does private mean?
Our AI services process what you submit to create your response. Saved entries are protected by account access, but are not end-to-end encrypted: the operator and authorized service providers can technically access stored data. This is not a promise that even the owner cannot read it.
Read the privacy notice1. Who is responsible
blssdAdvice is a service operated by an independent sole proprietor based in Washington, D.C., United States. In this notice, “blssdAdvice,” “we,” and “our” refer to that operator.
For privacy questions or requests, email support@blssdadvice.com. Please do not email passwords, card numbers, reset links, identity documents, or private reflection text.
2. Who the service is for
The service is for adults age 18 or older. Do not create an account for a child or submit information about a child that is not necessary for your own reflection. New paid subscriptions are currently offered only to adults who reside in the United States and access checkout from the United States.
blssdAdvice is an AI-assisted Scripture reflection tool. It is not emergency, medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or pastoral care. See our Safety page for urgent-help guidance.
3. Information we handle
- Account and security data: the name and email you provide, a protected password credential if you use an app password, account dates, sessions, and limited IP address and browser information used for sign-in and security. If available and you choose Google or Apple sign-in, we receive basic identity information and a provider account identifier and store authentication records. Apple may supply a private relay email address. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
- Reflection data: the situation you submit, the generated response, and—if you choose to save it—the title, biblical figure, theme, summary, response, date, and cover information in your Field Guide.
- Optional preferences: your selected focus areas, Scripture familiarity, preferred depth, and whether personalization is enabled. Personalization uses broad saved themes and figures, not a separate copy of raw questions.
- Voice data: audio you choose to record is sent for transcription. The app does not intentionally store the audio file. It records a limited attempt receipt such as outcome, duration, model, and cost. You can edit the returned transcript before submitting it as a reflection.
- Billing data: plan, status, billing interval, renewal date, and Stripe customer, subscription, checkout, or payment references. Stripe collects payment-card and billing-address details; blssdAdvice does not store full card numbers.
- Usage and operations: counts, request status, model/token/cost receipts, coarse product events, rate-limit signals, and error or security records. These records are designed not to contain reflection text.
- Support data: messages and other information you choose to send to the support mailbox.
- Optional email list: if you separately subscribe through our Buttondown signup page, Buttondown processes the email address you provide, confirmation and unsubscribe records, and delivery information. Creating an app account does not subscribe you.
A reflection can reveal religion, health, relationships, or other sensitive details. Share only what is useful, avoid identifying other people, and remember that this is not a confidential professional or clergy relationship.
4. How and why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; generate the reflection or transcript you request; save entries and preferences you choose; measure allowances; administer subscriptions and refunds; detect abuse; troubleshoot; improve basic product flow; comply with law; and answer support requests.
Your current situation is needed to generate a requested reflection. Optional personalization is off until you enable it in Settings, and you can turn it off or clear it there. We do not use private reflection text for advertising.
If you choose to join the separate email list, we may send app news, Scripture-related articles and occasional promotions for products from blssdAdvice. You can unsubscribe using the link in those emails. We do not send your private reflections or Field Guide to the mailing-list service or use them to target promotions. Essential account, billing and security emails are separate from the optional list.
5. AI and automated content
Reflection requests and voice recordings are processed through Vercel AI Gateway and the model providers selected for the feature. Requests instruct participating providers not to train their models on the submitted content. Provider systems may still process or retain limited data for delivery, safety, abuse prevention, or legal duties under their own terms and our service configuration.
Reflections are generated by software, not a human pastor or counselor. The app replaces the featured quotation with text from its pinned Berean Standard Bible source, but surrounding interpretation can still be incomplete or wrong. Check important wording and context in a trusted Bible.
6. Service providers and disclosure
We use service providers only for operating the app:
- Vercel: hosting, AI Gateway, privacy-filtered site analytics, and private cover storage and delivery.
- AI model providers routed through Vercel: reflection and transcription. Previously generated covers are no longer displayed; stored files remain subject to account deletion and cleanup.
- Neon: application and account database hosting.
- Upstash: rate limiting and abuse controls.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection on signup, email verification and free reflections. Cloudflare processes technical browser and network information to distinguish people from automated traffic. We do not send your reflection text to Turnstile. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe: checkout, subscriptions, payments, refunds, fraud prevention, and legally required transaction records.
- Google Workspace: support and account-recovery email.
- Buttondown, if you choose to subscribe: optional newsletter subscriptions, email delivery and public blog archives. See Buttondown's Privacy Policy.
- Google or Apple sign-in, when offered and chosen: authentication and basic identity information. This sign-in connection does not give those providers access to your saved reflections or request access to your Gmail, Drive, or iCloud files.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect a person or the service, investigate fraud, or complete a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Cookies, browser storage, and analytics
Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect account actions. A per-tab browser draft preserves an unsaved question for up to 30 minutes so a sign-in or interrupted response can continue. Do not use a shared browser if you do not want another person with access to that device to see an unfinished draft.
Vercel Analytics receives page-level usage after the app removes query strings and skips password-reset and authentication routes. Field Guide detail URLs are reduced to a generic route. First-party product events use coarse labels and counts, not questions or generated prose.
8. Retention
- Saved entries and preferences remain until you remove them or delete your account.
- Encrypted interrupted-response recovery copies expire after 30 minutes and are removed by scheduled cleanup.
- Detailed reflection request and quota receipts are deleted after 90 days. A count of past reflections, without their text, remains while your account exists so the free trial does not reset.
- Voice attempt receipts stay while your account exists to track allowances, costs and retries, including the lifetime free voice allowance. They do not contain the recording or transcript and are removed when you delete your account.
- Coarse product analytics events are deleted after 13 months. The separate account trial count is removed when you delete your account.
- Expired sessions and recovery verifications are removed by scheduled maintenance.
- The optional email list is separate from your app account. Unsubscribe through a newsletter email to stop it; deleting your app account does not automatically remove a subscription you created separately in Buttondown. Contact support for help with either service.
- Billing, top-up, cost, dispute, security, and support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for service operation, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal obligations.
Deleting an account removes linked app data and queues subscription/customer and cover cleanup. A temporary provider failure may delay cleanup and will be retried. Provider backups and legally required Stripe transaction records can remain for their applicable retention periods. A copy of an older cover link obtained before the private-cover migration cannot be recalled from someone else's device.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
Settings lets you download account data, change or clear optional personalization, delete saved entries, cancel renewal, and delete your account. You may also ask us to access, correct, delete, or explain information by emailing support. We may need proportionate verification to keep another person from accessing your data.
Rights differ by location and may include access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or appeal. We will honor rights required by applicable law. Deleting data does not automatically create a refund; see the Refund Policy.
10. Security and international processing
We use access controls, scoped service credentials, encryption in transit, protected password storage, private cover delivery, request limits, cost limits, security headers, backups, and cleanup jobs. No internet service can promise perfect security, so avoid unnecessary names, addresses, or other identifying details in a reflection.
The operator is in the United States. Providers may process information in the United States and other places where they operate, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.
11. Changes and contact
We will update the effective date when this notice changes. If a change materially affects how existing personal information is used, we will provide notice appropriate to the change and request consent when the law requires it.
